- Crypto-currency giant Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Thursday for stealing $8 billion from consumers of the bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange he founded. - A federal court ruled yesterday that South Carolina’s congressional elections will be held under a map previously deemed unconstitutional and discriminatory against Black voters and that is still pending a Supreme Court decision. Despite these ongoing legal battles, the court emphasized practicality over idealism and decided to allow the existing map to be used for this year’s election, much to the dismay of Democratic leaders seeking a fairer redistricting solution.
