As a result of the ruling, Trump will not be sentenced for his hush money conviction until September, making it more likely that he will evade concrete punishment. However, not everyone is escaping consequences for their Trumpian antics. Yesterday, NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani lost his right to practice law for his part in the 2020 election interference.
• The US men’s soccer team was eliminated from Copa America after losing 1-0 to Uruguay. The unexpected defeat, coupled with Panama’s 3-1 win over Bolivia, means we won’t be seeing the US in the finals any time soon, despite being held on home soil. On the other side of the globe, Turkey pulled an impressive 2-1 victory over Austria in the Euro 2024 soccer tournament, a historic upset that will launch them into the quarterfinals.
