In Must Know News…
- In the Trump classified documents trial, Judge Cannon rejected the prosecution’s request for another gag order against the former president. The order alleged Trump misled followers when he claimed he “nearly escaped death” after his Mar-a-Lago estate was raided by the FBI. Since then, the hush money trial wound down with closing arguments from the defense, and juror deliberations may begin as soon as today.
- Pope Francis apologized after he was quoted using a homophobic slur against gay members of the clergy. He made the remark in a closed-door meeting with Italian bishops, using it to reaffirm the Catholic Church’s ban on gay priests. This comes despite the Pope’s past efforts to be more inclusive of LGBTQ Catholics.
- In a 4.4 billion dollar deal, T-Mobile plans to buy nearly all of US Cellular, including its customers, stores, and 30% of its spectrum assets. T-Mobile will also procure a long term lease on over 2,600 cell phone towers. The deal will give T-Mobile customers quote “more coverage and more capacity” on their devices.
