In Must Know News…
- Boeing continues to stay in the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons. The U.S. Justice Department is criminally charging Boeing with fraud following two fatal crashes. The DOJ is asking Boeing to enter a guilty plea or go to trial, with the plea deal including a $487 million penalty. In related news, Boeing has recently decided to buy back Spirit AeroSystems for $4.7 billion in stock and Airbus will take on the supplier’s debt for Europe-based activities. Maybe Boeing should consider a vacation, just not on their own planes…
- Israel has ordered a mass evacuation of Palestinians out of Khan Younis, hinting at the possibility of a ground assault in the Gaza Strip’s second largest city. Many displaced Palestinians fled to Khan Younis after the attacks on Rafah, and Israel has declared that they are moving towards the final stages of the Rafah operation. 55 Palestinians were also released from Gaza on Monday, including the director of Gaza’s main hospital, all freed without charges.
- More Supreme Court news, because man are they busy! Firstly, the Supreme Court has finally decided on a hearing date set for Monday for the long anticipated decision on Trump’s immunity case regarding potential election interference in the 2020 election. Additionally, the Court refused to settle recent laws made by Texas and Florida to protect conservative views on social media. This means that the laws will remain blocked while lower courts continue to deliberate on the constitutionality of the disputes.

- The Karen Read murder trial came to a close Monday as Judge Beverly Cannone was forced to declare a mistrial following the jury’s failure to reach a verdict after 27 hours of deliberations. And I thought I was indecisive after scrolling through Netflix for an hour…
- “Inside Out 2” made history Sunday as the fastest animated movie to gross a billion dollars worldwide, and is in fact the first movie since last summer’s “Barbie” to gross a billion dollars globally. Good for you, Pixar!
- This summer, Simone Biles will compete in her third Olympics after securing her spot on team USA. At 27, Biles will now also be the oldest female American gymnast to compete in the games since 1952. How are the words oldest and 27 even in the same sentence?
- Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon reported to federal prison Monday, beginning his four-month sentence for denying a congressional subpoena. Bannon was quoted saying he’s “proud” to go to prison, but we think that’ll change after tasting the food at tomorrow’s mess hall.
