- Over the long weekend, the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to stop its offensive in Rafah, as well as reopen the border between Gaza and Egypt. After the landmark ruling, at least 45 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Rafah in what Netanyahu called a quote “tragic mistake.” Just hours beforehand, Hamas fired rockets over Tel Aviv, which resulted in no casualties.
- In a nearly 2.8 billion dollar settlement, the NCAA may soon start paying college athletes. The federal judge overseeing the case has yet to sign off on the agreement, but if approved, thousands of current and former college athletes will receive handsome payouts as early as 2025. Salaries have yet to be negotiated as the landmark decision moves forward.
- A massive landslide in Papua New Guinea buried more than 2,000 people while they were asleep in their homes. More than 150 houses were swallowed by nearly two stories of debris. So far, search and rescue operations in the remote region have proven hazardous, with only 6 bodies having been recovered in the three days since the tragedy.

- Meta, Activision, and the company behind the AR-15 have all been named in wrongful death lawsuits filed by the families of the 2022 Uvalde school shooting. The suits allege that the three “groomed” shooter Salvador Ramos through explicit imagery and aggressive marketing.
- The parents of pro-golfer Grayson Murray confirmed that their son took his own life Saturday morning. The two-time PGA Tour winner previously alluded to his struggles with mental health, stating he wanted to “give up on life at times.” Murray was only 30 years old.
