Samuel Alito says US should return to godliness (CNN, AP)

In a secretly recorded interview with a liberal activist, Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito questioned whether a compromise can be reached between America’s left and right, and agreed that the US should return quote “to a place of godliness.” This comes after Mrs. Alito flew 2 flags associated with January 6th rioters outside the couple’s home, sparking controversy over Alito’s ability to be unbiased in his rulings.

Man stabs five in northern China (Reuters, CBS) 

Four Cornell College instructors and one Chinese tourist were injured after being stabbed in a park in northern China. A 55 year old man is in custody in what authorities believe to be a random attack that occurred after one of the instructors bumped into him. All of the victims are in stable condition and sustained no major injuries.

Hunter Biden found guilty (CNN, NBC) 

Hunter Biden was found guilty on all 3 felony gun possession charges. He could face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years for lying about his drug use on a federal form and possessing a gun while addicted to drugs, though he is likely to receive much less as a first time offender. The verdict marks the only time a president’s immediate family member has been convicted of a crime.

Boats sinks near Yemen, 39 dead (CBS)

A boat sank near the coast of Yemen on Monday, carrying 260 Somalian and Ethiopian migrants.  At least 39 people were killed and 140 are still missing according to the UN.

Activists vandalize portrait of King Charles (AP) 

Animal activists in London vandalized a portrait of King Charles III by pasting an image of the British cartoon “Wallace & Gromit”, due to the titular characters’ fondness of cheese, to bring awareness to animal cruelty by the RSPCA with the words of Wallace, “No cheese, Gromit!”

A group of House Democrats have launched an internal task force to fight the “Project 2025” agenda for a Donald Trump White House that will implement a GOP administration to dismantle aspects of the federal government and install loyalists within the Trump cabinet.

Malawi VP confirmed dead in plane crash (CNN)

An update to yesterday’s story: the plane carrying Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima has been located and Chilima, along with nine other passengers, are confirmed to have died in the crash.
