In Must Know News:
- Yesterday, at the last, last minute, Hunter Biden pled guilty to all nine charges in his federal tax case, admitting to a Los Angeles court that he withheld $1.4 million in taxes over four years; the shocking move will let the president’s son avoid trial just months after he was found guilty in Delaware on felony gun charges. His sentencing is scheduled for December 16th.
- A quick follow-up to yesterday’s Russian election interference revelation– which wasn’t all that surprising, right? Anyways, the indictment from the DOJ Wednesday alleges that a media company linked to several conservative influencers, including commentators Tim Pool and Dave Rubin, was secretly funded by the Russian state media in order to produce content “often consistent” with the Kremlin’s interest in “amplifying US domestic divisions.” Yikes…
- On Thursday, former President Donald Trump announced his plan to create a government efficiency commission that would audit the entire federal government, an idea proposed to him by– guess who?- Elon Musk. Trump claims the commission would save trillions of dollars, and also promises to cut 10 government regulations for every new regulation implemented. Oh, and Elon Musk would run the commission. Though only after he renames it commission-X.
- FBI investigators seized the phones of 3 top NYC deputies to mayor Eric Adams and of the city police commissioner. Those deputies include the deputy mayor for public safety, a mayoral advisor, and First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright. The searches add to a growing roster of investigations around mayor Adams’ administration, who has had electronics seized himself.
- French president Emmanuel Macron has named former Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier as the new French prime minister after a weeks-long political stalemate. The stalemate was the result of a contentious election where the left wing party, New Popular Front, claimed a surprise victory. Barnier, the 73 year old conservative, must now face a vote in lower parliament in order to claim his seat.
