Latimer, urged to run by pro-Israel groups, targeted Bowman’s open opposition to Israel’s war in Gaza, stating he was “out of touch” with the significant Jewish population in the district. While over in Colorado, controversial GOP Representative Lauren Boebert came out victorious in the competitive primaries in her new district, now favored to win the seat in November.
- After months of tension and economic struggles in Bolivia, armored vehicles rammed the door’s of the government palace on Wednesday in an act believed to be an attempted coup. President Luis Arce stood firm following the attack, naming a new army commander to order the troops to stand down. Former General Juan José Zúñiga was arrested for the attack, but in a surprise twist, he claimed that Arce instructed him to storm the palace in a political move to raise his popularity.
- 8 men from Tajikistan were arrested by ICE in three different U.S. cities due to their potential connections to ISIS. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force was made aware of a potential terrorist threat and began following these individuals through communications and activity on social media. Once the FBI discovered that they were in contact with known affiliates of ISIS, they obtained an arrest warrant in hopes to uncover a broader terrorist network.
