Hello everyone! Today is Tuesday, September 24, my name is Sophia, and you’re listening to Current2 Pop Culture, the easy way to stay entertained.

IN POP CULTURE NEWS:

  1. Chappell Roan’s non-endorsement of presidential candidates is polarizing fans. The singer said in an interview that both candidates have issues, and feels no pressure to endorse either. While some applauded Roan, others feel offended that she is not outright rejecting Donald Trump’s anti-LGBTQ agenda. “Good Luck Babe” trying to reconcile this one Chappell!
  2. Thanks to massive vinyl sales, Travis Scott clinched the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album chart after initially losing to Sabrina Carpenter by a razor-thin margin. Scott’s 2014 mixtape “Days Before Rodeo” was rereleased for the 10 year anniversary and surged from No. 106 to the top, proving that old school is so in.
  3. Marvel fans… Assemble! Marvel Studios just released the extended trailer for the film “Thunderbolts”, and you’re likely to see the comeback of a few fan favorites. The story follows the anti-hero titular squad as they learn to work together, but if you’ve seen the trailer, you know this movie will be jam packed with all kinds of action!
  4. The South Korean Olympic silver medalist in shooting landed her first acting gig…playing an assassin of course. Kim Yeji went viral during the Olympics for her effortlessly cool street style and bionic shooting glasses. Now, her sharp shooting will hit the big screen in “Crush.”
  5. Unknown music by Mozart was found in a German library. The piece dates from the mid-to-late 1760’s and is arranged for a string trio. Dang…I would have never thought I would see Mozart drop a new single before Rihanna.

That’s all for your pop culture news today. If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to share it with your friends. Have a great rest of your Tuesday and as always, thank you for listening to Current2 Pop Culture.
