For those who read...
The situation in Venezuela is very critical, very confusing and extremely unstable. If you are unaware, there was a recent election where the people of Venezuela voted for their new president. But understand the stakes are high. You're voting for someone who will be the president for the next six years. That's a long time. We think in America, four years can sometimes be a long time. Imagine six years now. Here's what issue is and here's why you're seeing some people super excited and celebrating. And on the other hand, you're seeing some people protesting, knocking down statues, lighting fires and there's even been two people who unfortunately due to violent protests have lost their lives. Understand this, there is a man out there named President Nicholas Maduro where he is known as a socialist dictator to the outside world. Like literally almost every country who oppose Nicolas Maduro will say he is a dictator and many people in Venezuela will say that as well. Now it is being reported by the National Electoral Authority which imagine that to be sort of like our electoral process where you have the electoral college. And then they officially say who the President is the National Electoral Authority is the exact same thing they have said that President Nicolas Maduro, he is officially the winner. The only issue is you have someone known or a group known as the opposition. They are claiming they have 73% of the vote. How is it possible that President Nicolas Maduro is the winner? Now again, this is a little confusing because when you hear the word opposition, you just think, hey, that's the opposition in general terms. But no, they are actually known as the opposition. So don't get that confused. So right now where the confusion is from the outside in, you literally have the United States Brazil Argent, you know Uruguay and many other powerhouses saying this whole election is a complete sham. And because of this, you even have President Nicolas Maduro kicking out a lot of nations saying, you know what just get out of our country, kick your politicians out, get rid of your ambassadors, get out of here. And so we're starting to see this isolation process which is very common with these Dictatorships. You see it with North Korea, you see it with Russia, you see it with Cuba where you start to isolate, take people out so nobody can look from the outside in because this is not the first time we're looking from the outside in, you start to see some questions on what exactly is happening and the people of Venezuela, they are sick and tired of it. That is why we are starting to see protest and civil unrest. In fact, you even have the United States where they do not travel advisory and there are other nations who are following suit. They don't want us citizens going in there because the US is even predicting things are getting really bad. Pay attention to Venezuela because that country, although you might think, ok, it's some random country in South America who cares about them, you should care because there is one other powerhouse who really, really seems to like Venezuela. Russia loves Venezuela, they love to influence Venezuela, they love the station troops there, they love to park their boats there. So it is very critical that Russia makes sure that this current president stays in power. Our President Nicolas Maduro, now there are many other storylines that we could go through as far as who else would love Venezuela to win or to be under a socialist dictatorship. But for right now, President Nicolas Maduro, according to the National Electoral authority, apparently he's the winner, but we'll see what happens in the next coming days. I do predict even more civil unrest unfortunately and more violence. My name is Marcus Obeada, a current two reporter.
